Because I'm a lazy blogger

Here, loves. Have some pictures of the 5km stretch that I consider to be 'our' beach.

The path through the dunes at the end of our street.

Look very carefully and you can see a willy wagtail. We have a willy wagtail at home who delights in tormenting the cat. His name is Robert. But then all willy wags are called Robert.*

Here's our jetty. Isn't it nice?

And this is what it looks like from underneath.

This is The Other Jetty.
It's a bit further away, but we still like it.

And here's a nice sunset, complete with yacht,
as seen from the end of our street.

Yes, I'm a lazy-arse blogger and I have nothing to write about. As the cat's-bum-beaked penguin said, "Wossitooya?"

* Before you ask me, they just are, all right? It's the same way Murray magpies are all called Murray. Unless there are two of them, when the other one is called Darling. That's just the way it is. Don't fight it.

Ohhhhhh ... now I'm homesick for Adelaide beaches. And it was 30C or something today, too. PAH!

Lazy, schmazy: great pics.

And I am ABSOLUTELY jealous of you having a beach at the end of the street.

I'm jealous too - London has the river (and it was lovely today) but it's not the same as a beach. And with a fab pier too...

sob.

Your pictures are so esque!

All garden lizards are called Ben.

Ariel, on the downside, we're so far from town that drunk taxis home cost $30. Swings, roundabouts.

LG, I'm very fond of rivers. We have a rather pathetic creeky thing in Adelaide that we call a river but no-one else in their right mind would consider worthy of the title.

Jo, ha! I knew it wasn't just me. Huntsman spiders are all called Felicity.

That must be an Adelaide thang.
Our huntsmen spiders are all called Monty.

Hey, taxis from my mum's place in Adelaide (my main Adders base) cost $40 these days. Does that make you feel better?

Jo, why Monty? I didn't like Felicity Kennett, so naming huntsmans after her was an obvious choice.

Ariel, yes, slightly. I gather your mum doesn't live in my street?

Finally I now know what to call the little geckos that run up and down my walls; Ben, Benjamin, Bennie, Benita....
I can go with willy wagtails being Robert and magpies being Murray (or Darling - cute!), but I am sure that all huntsmans are called Wilbur. At least everyone that has ever lived in my house was.

You just wanted to make us all jealous about where you live!!!

Objective attained!!

Nai. Hmm, Monty, Wilbur or Felicity. Does everyone have a name for huntsmen? I love South-East Asian gheckos. That little clicking noise they make is sooo cute! I saw one fall of the ceiling one night, into the fan ceiling and get knocked across the room. Poor little guy!

Steph, you're jealous of ADELAIDE? What are you saying, woman?!

Nowt to be jealous about of Syderney.

You complain about taxi fares here. If I have to go to Sydney on business the taxi fares there (each way) cost more than the plane fare!

Too big, too big.

Nice pics, by the way.

Taxi fare from my house to the city come in at a mere $48! I WIN !!! At least I get a view from Nob Hill down over the salt pans :)

Ashleigh, but that's Shitney. You expect to be overcharged ;) Still, I like Shitney better than Mallbourne.

But I'd rather be in Africa than any of them :( Beam me up, Scotty!

Hey, thats my beach---well actually it belongs to my dog and its at the end of my street.
Now why wouldnt someone be jealous of living in Adelaide and 200m from a beach, 25 minutes drive to te centre of the city or a very quick train trip

I briefly lived on Semaphore road about 60 seconds from the beach, so know both jetties rather well. I'd buy an ice cream on Semaphore road, walk along the beach to your jetty, buy another icecream, walk home again. After work.
