And here we are with another elephant...
On the off-chance that anyone is still interested, I've put some photos from Africa on a Flickr. They're in roughly reverse chronological order, I'm afraid, because I wasn't smart enough to get them the other way around the first time and now I don't have the energy to fix it. Half-hearted? Ja ja.
So, fill yer collective boots.

Brilliant, brilliant photos! I am soooooo longing to go there.
redcap these are absolutely beautiful photos. the landscape obviously helped - but i have to compliment you on your efforts behind the lens too. amazing.
Thanks for the lovely photos and writing Redcap. I was with you on the travelling in Africa thing - but I want to go now. Right now in fact.
Awesome!!!!!As were the stories
PS: They are framed really well. I love the sunsets and river shots so I have to ask..."What camera do you have?"...I'd guess that it has a 10x optical zoom and about 6mp or 7 mp rating. Am I close? :)
I'll have to break mine back out for my next trip
Thank you, everyone. I'm glad you've enjoyed them. I know that going through other people's holiday pictures can be like watching paint dry, so thank you for humouring me by looking :)
Meva, you know you'll love it if you do go. Start planning now!
Susanna, I have to admit that if my camera could hover in mid-air and press its own shutter button, it probably would. It pretty much did everything for me - all I had to do was point.
Killer, your mission, should you choose to accept it... ;)
Scorpy, I've got a Canon Powershot A710 IS. It's 7.1 megapixels, but only 6x optical zoom. The digital zoom isn't bad, though I tried not to use it too often because you can lose some quality. The thing that attracted me to it was the manual settings and the fact that it had a viewfinder, which not all digitals do, but which can be very useful in bright sunlight. I'll look forward to seeing your holiday pics :)
See, I'm telling my Dad about this, because he's all like "digital cameras are shit", and I'm all like, "no they're not".
Here is the proof. Thanks Redcap!
PS Do you think if we bloggers formed some kind of tour group we could get a discount/drunk?
FANTASTIC photos.
Digital cameras used to be crap. Not any more. These days I think many of the low end digitals are better than high end film cameras. Here's proof.
Gigglewick, I think a travel group made up of you, me, killerabbit and meva would be ace. Let's do it!
Ashleigh, pfft, who are you calling a low-end digital user? ;)
Girl, you have some serious talent.
Awesome pics.
love you red riding hood look!
Steph, aw, shucks. Thanks mate :)
tkk, not quite Red Riding Hood. It's the Priestess of Delphi. And she's waaaay better looking than I am!
Red..I think that is where people fall down. They try and frame everything thru the screen on the back. I always use the viewfinder and I never use the Digital zoom (I don't really truct it too much). I use the 10x Optical to frame or draw in a distant shot. I really must get out there and take some more. Maybe during my next outback trip next month (Julia Creek and Longreach)
The screen works fine so long as the light isn't too bright. What sort of camera are you using? Outback pics would be great! Can't wait for them.
I'm packing my bags for our exciting travels as I type. Metaphorically of course. Can we go to the rotting goat toilet? I have to have another toilet story to tell - everyone has heard all of my toilets in China stories.
Well, if we must. I'm sure the puddle of goat will still be there, albeit somewhat flatter. I recommend wearing closed shoes, though.
i looked at your photos.
and i liked em.
a lot.
Mars, I should have put in more of monkeys!
I love reading your blog. Its so different from everyone elses' and the photos are beautiful.
Seriously. Make sure you copy-right them or something.
Aww, thanks, Ms Smack :) Did I ever tell you what a champ you are? Mind, though, or I won't get through doors...
